On September 26, 2023, there was a roundtable with Sabah state, state investment agencies and Korean companies and institutions. The planned projects were shared in conjunction with Sabah State’s flagship energy business base overview and the federal government’s announced energy transition project. In particular, Permanent Secretary, Datuk Thomas Logijin said he hopes more Korean companies will invest, citing South Korea’s SK Nexilis as a success story as a representative investment company in Sabah.

Prior to this, on September 25, the Chief Minister of Sabah State, YB Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Noor and Ambassador Yeo Seung-bae met together with representatives from related organizations.

On September 26, the consulate office of the Republic of Korea in Kota Kinabalu which is already working, prepared a new office and held an opening ceremony. With state officials and representatives of all related institutes, it has become a meaningful event for the Korean Society of Kota Kinabalu.
